Aston Villa winger Philippe Coutinho is now on the verge of leaving the club, according to reports.

L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi writes on Twitter that the Brazilian will be joining Al-Duhail very soon.

It’s said that Aston Villa and the Qatari club are currently finalising the last documents so the move can be made official.

Coutinho’s move to Qatar had already been revealed by the Brazilian media this week, even though, at the time, journalist Jorge Nicola couldn’t say the club’s name.

In that report, it was claimed that since Aston Villa will be selling him for less than €20m, and none of the money would go to Barcelona.

When buying the winger from the Catalan side for €20m last summer, the Villans had agreed that 50% of a potential future profit would be sent to the La Liga club, and that’s not happening.

In his time at Aston Villa, Coutinho made 43 appearances, getting six goals and three assists. This season, though, he only had 24 minutes on the pitch, and it seemed clear the club were waiting for a good bid to let him go.
