Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli is in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup.

As national team manager Tite today released the list of players who will be travelling to Qatar, the Gunners’ young forward was mentioned among the 26 names.

The 21-year-old will then be side to side with his Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus, who’s also in the list.

The former Man City player, however, had more of a guarantee he’d be in the squad following all the great appearances he’s been having in the Premier League, so that’s not really a surprise.

Martinelli only has three caps for Brazil, all made between March and June this year. He’d been left out of the recent call-ups, but given his good start of season with the Gunners, there had been urge in the local media for him to be part of the squad as well.

There’s, however, an Arsenal player who may disappointing with the list. That’s Gabriel Magalhães, who despite being called up for four matches in the World Cup Qualifiers this year, was not named in the list.

He hadn’t been used by manager Tite in those matches, and what he’d shown in training sessions was probably not enough to convince the coach.
