Arsenal FC are reportedly one of the clubs who are interested in the São Paulo youngster Antony.

As reported by Yahoo journalist Jorge Nicola today, the Gunners are part of a list of pretenders which includes Ajax, PSV, Monaco and Lyon.

It’s claimed that Antony’s agent, Junior Pedroso, is in Europe, where he will be meeting some of the clubs who are following the youngster.

The agent has been in London, where he watched one of his clients, Lucas Moura, playing Tottenham’s Champions League clash against Ajax. From Thursday on, he’ll be meeting the clubs to talk about Antony.

Jorge Nicola claims that São Paulo have no intention to sell Antony this year, and the player is protected by a €50m release clause. However, his staff hope they can get a €25m offer.

Antony only has 16 appearances for São Paulo’s first team, and still has the salary of an academy player, making just €3.3k per month.
