Arsenal forward Marquinhos is now finalising his transfer to FC Nantes, the French media says.

Outlet L’Equipe today writes that the winger is expected to be in France on Friday for his medicals and sign the contract.

It’s claimed Nantes have a ‘total agreement’ with Arsenal for a loan spell, with no option to buy included.

Marquinhos is valued by Transfermakrt at €12m, and that may have impacted the French side’s decision on not trying a permanent deal with the Gunners.

Arsenal bought Marqunhos on a €3.5m deal from São Paulo last summer. He only had the chance to play six games for Mikel Arteta’s side, getting one goal and one assist.

In January, the Gunners decided to loan him out to Norwich City, where he also had one goal and one assist, this time in 11 games.

With Arsenal not seeing big potential in him to be part of their squad right now, they choose to send him abroad.

Now it’s up to the Brazilian to impress at Nantes, at which point he will come back for a new assessment regarding his future at the Emirates.
