Everton’s hopes of a potential deal for Paris Saint Germain striker Hugo Ekitike may have been handed a major boost as the player has been labelled unwanted by the French giants.

That’s according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, who says Ekitike, and several other players were today informed they could leave the club.

Ekitike found himself linked with a move to Everton today, with reports from France stating that the Toffees had opened talks with PSG about a potential loan move.

Hawkins now follows that up and explains that PSG are keen to move Ekitike on, with manager Luis Enrique and director of football Luis Campos informing him as much in a meeting today.

The pair have reportedly met with several of the players in PSG’s squad, including Neymar, Marco Verratti and Renato Sanches that they ‘don’t count on them’.

These players did not take part in the official PSG photo session for the Ligue de Football Professional, the LFP, with Neymar and Verratti even training indoors away from the rest of the squad.

The sentiment is clear that PSG want rid as soon as possible, perhaps giving Everton their opportunity to get talks for Ekitike really underway.

A deal for him would still be a difficult one to pull off given their finances but with PSG wanting rid and telling the player as much, the window is very much open.
