Even though most of the Brazilian media have been taking it easy when saying Chelsea are close to signing Estevão Willian from Palmeiras, we now get to see some of the first claims saying there’s a done deal.

Those come from Radio Bandeirantes journalist Eliá Junior, who claims there’s now a verbal agreement for the player to join the Blues.

It’s said that Chelsea will sign Estevão for €60m, and the player is keen on moving to Stamford Bridge.

What is now being discussed by the clubs is how the amount will be paid, as Palmeiras want to ‘guarantee’ they get €60m, regardless of bonuses.

Regarding the player’s wish, Eliá Junior claims that both Estevão and his agent André Cury want him to go to Chelsea. And a lot of it has to do with the fact that Barcelona do not seem an attractive destination for him.

“The player likes the idea of living in London, his agent is very close to Chelsea, he didn’t like Vitor Roque’s situation [at Barcleona], it’s the same agent and he’s already determined that he won’t go there. He hasn’t signed a contract yet, I repeat, but from what I’ve heard from London, I don’t see any other alternative than a closed deal, and quickly, in the next few days.”

Even though we’re still to see the big outlets stating that Chelsea have a deal for Estevão, it now starts to look like there’s just a step to be taken before it’s all confirmed.
