It seems like Marquinhos’ transfer from Arsenal to Fluminense could get announced by any time now.

According to the latest updates from Globo Esporte, the Rio de Janeiro club are now waiting for the player at their training centre to make the signing official.

It’s said that Marquinhos ‘already started’ the first part of medicals to sign for Fluminense on Tuesday evening. Then he had to travel to England to sort some bureaucratic issues.

Those problems are sorted, and the Arsenal player now landed in Brazil to sign with the Tricolor on a loan deal.

It’s said Fluminense will pay the Gunners a compensation for the spell, and there’s no information on a potential buying clause, although other reports said there is one.

Globo Esporte says Arsenal were never against loaning Marquinhos, as they know he wouldn’t be used by Mikel Arteta this season. The player had been loaned to Nantes in the past few months, but got called back by the London side.

The winger has a contract with the Gunners until 2027, but depending on how he does in Brazil, he might never return to London.
