Even though several Premier League clubs have recently been linked to signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, it’s Arsenal who are most often named as main contenders for that transfer.

It turns out the Gunners are again mentioned in that race today, this time in a story from Gazzetta Dello Sport.

As the Italian outlet writes about Milinkovic-Savic’s future, they claim Arsenal could buy him as a ‘gift’ to themselves in case they win the Premier League this season.

And the exciting news is that the 28-year-old shouldn’t be as expensive as it first looked. Since his contract expires next year, Lazio may feel forced to sell him this summer, and their old €100m request shall now be dropped.

However, that still doesn’t mean Arsenal would have an easy task to get Milinkovic-Savic signed. According to Gazzetta, the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all interested in him as well. Those clubs are just waiting for the confirmation that the midfielder is not signing a new contract with Lazio.
