It’s almost inevitable that Nabil Fékir will be linked at least once a summer with a move to the Premier League, and the club is nearly always Arsenal.
The fact Alexandre Lacazette joined the Gunners after a couple of years of speculation certainly hasn’t helped the stories, but Mercato365 in France report the interest hasn’t gone away.
In fact, the French website claim a scout from the London club was present a week ago to witness Lyon’s 5-2 win over Dijon to keep an eye on his performance.
The attacking midfielder scored a goal in that game, taking his tally to 17 in 27 league appearances this season.
While Fékir would have been a very Arsène Wenger signing, the fact the club are still looking at him despite the Frenchman’s announcement that he will be leaving his role at the end of the season suggest it goes beyond that, and whoever replaces him could also be told to buy him by the club’s new head scout and director of football.
Either way, it will take a hefty chunk of cash to convince Jean-Michel Aulas to part ways with yet another one of his stars.
If Lacazette was worth close to £50m before the Neymar deal, how much is Fékir going to cost in today’s market? With two years left on his current deal, the valuation ceiling might be limited, but he’ll still cost a pretty penny.
Many Arsenal fans have long wanted the signing of Fékir, so that the club are interested is rather handy.
