A group trying to gain control of Sevilla have reportedly made a proposal to Aston Villa’s owners to become involved in their efforts.

That’s according to Planta Noble, who report that La Tercera Vía have turned to Nassef Sawiris in a hope the Aston Villa owner can provide funding for their efforts.

PN report that La Tercera Via do not have the resources to purchase a majority stake in Sevilla, despite their intentions to try and seize control of the club.

Therefore, they need to seek financing and have presented the project to Sawiris, who currently owns Aston Villa.

He is reportedly considering what has been presented to him but is unclear about the profitability of becoming involved at this moment in time.

Aston Villa, though, are already involved in something of a multi-club model under his leadership and Sevilla could be another to add that growing group.

The Villans certainly have close ties to the Spanish club given Monchi is their director of football operations and Unai Emery is currently in charge of the first team. Both spent highly successful spells at Sevilla before their moves to Villa Park and remain closely linked to the La Liga side.

Whether they have any power to convince Sawiris to aid La Tercera Via remains to be seen, but a proposal has been made to him regardless.
