Spanish newspaper AS have a page in their Thursday edition dedicated to Isco’s future and clubs who are apparently interested in signing him.

AS claim that Arsenal tried to sign the Real Madrid player during the last winter transfer window, but Zinedine Zidane blocked the move. The Spanish newspaper claim Zidane ‘stopped the operation’, suggesting it got off the ground in some way.

In March, another Spanish newspaper, Marca, did a routine ‘Arsenal interested in Isco‘ report and said the Premier League club would be ‘delighted’ to sign the player.

Marca put the price at €45m to €50m which seemed high at the time given that Isco’s attitude and application were being repeatedly questioned in the Spanish media.

However, after some of the fees paid during the last summer transfer window, €45m may now be considered relatively low. What would help any buying club is that Isco’s contract runs out in June 2018.
