Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney continues to get a lot of attention from the Italian media.

As we covered this morning, local newspapers have been saying that Napoli are keen on signing the player, and could take their chance if Arsenal don’t get a deal with the Scottish side.

However, website Calcio Mercato comes up with a story this afternoon claiming that it’s still the Gunners who lead the race for Tierney.

They say Arsenal keep trying to ‘accelerate’ the transfer, and although they are still to get to the €28m (Calciomercato’s claim) demanded by Celtic, they are still the ‘favourites’ to sign the 22-year-old.

It’s claimed that Napoli need a little bit of time before getting serious in this competition. The Italian side plan to loan Mario Rui to a new club, and only then make their move for Tierney.

So if things continue like this, they should have no chance against the Gunners.
