Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb claim an exclusive on Friday about the future of Chelsea’s John Terry. The defender’s contract with the Blues runs out in June, but TMW believe he could be moving on before the summer.

A move to China is covered, and that’s been rumoured for Terry repeatedly in recent years, but is nothing new and certainly not exclusive.

What TMW go on to say is that Antonio Conte has given the ‘green light’ to a January exit for Terry, seeing the club captain move halfway through the current season. Given Conte’s keenness for defenders, that would surely have to see someone else come in to replace him.

And TMW have an angle on that too, claiming ‘the feeling is’ that Chelsea will continue pushing to sign Thiago Silva from PSG.

The only vaguely new thing here is Conte’s supposed green light, although it doesn’t say the manager is pushing Terry out.

On the Thiago Silva claims, the player’s agent Paulo Tonietto spoke to Sport Witness in October and told us: “Chelsea are a big club. And the English league is the best in the world.

“We’re not negotiating a new contract, let’s see what happens before December. Thiago’s deal ends on June 30th 2017 if PSG don’t qualify for the Champions League. Everything is possible in football.”
