Manchester City’s Julián Álvarez has emerged as a new striker target for Bayern Munich in the summer, according to multiple reports from Germany.

The 23-year-old has 17 goals and five assists from 47 games in his debut season at the Etihad, while being Erling Haaland’s deputy.

SportBild state Bayern are looking to strengthen their midfield and the No.9 position in the next window. For the latter, the Manchester City star’s name is included in the list.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane are also on the Bundesliga side’s target list. Apart from the duo, the Argentina international is viewed as ‘another solution’ for them.

Two months ago, the World Cup winner signed a new contract until 2028. Despite this, it’s stated he’s ‘not considered unsellable’ for the Premier League winners.

Over at Sky Deutschland, they claim the Bavarian club have their eyes set on Álvarez. His name was discussed internally at Bayern and their leaders have ‘asked about’ the South American.

Even though Bayern are interested in Álvarez, the topic is ‘not really hot yet’. In addition to this, there’s been no talks with Manchester City about him so far.

Neither SportBild nor Sky mention the player or Manchester City’s stance over a potential transfer.
