Earlier on Monday, we covered a claim from the Netherlands that Thorgan Hazard was leaning more towards joining PSV Eindhoven than Everton.

The Toffees are trying to get a few deals over the line before the end of the transfer window, and the Belgian,  seemingly on his way out from Borussia Dortmund, was meant to be one of them.

However, the fact PSV have come knocking has put a spanner in the words for Everton, as he favours a move to the Netherlands.

We covered that part, but more details have come out since, with a few reports in Germany providing a bit of information on the player’s thought process.

We’ll start with Sky Germany’s Sven Westerschulze, who took to Twitter to explain that the player is ‘more likely’ to head to Eindhoven than Everton ‘because of the proximity to Dortmund, where he lives with his wife and four children’.

It’s made clear that ‘family is a very important factor for him’, and as for the talks between clubs, the two sides believe that a ‘loan deal could work’ on Tuesday.

We also have Patrick Berger from Sport 1, who outright states that Hazard has ‘rejected a request from England’, as his decision between staying in Dortmund, where he would earn more and play less, or heading to PSV is expected to be made ‘shortly’.

Another blow for Everton, who will now have to find someone else to try and bolster Sean Dyche’s new squad.
