Catalan outlet Sport today explains the situation which could take Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Barcelona.
They claim agent Jorge Mendes has been pushing for the move to happen in January, even though the Camp Nou side originally had the signing planned for next summer.
Traore is said to be on board with the operation, giving Barça a positive answer in December, and is now ‘on the table’ for the La Liga giants to go and sign him.
While handling negotiations with Wolves, Mendes ‘made it clear’ the winger could move for around €22m. The operation could be made for even less in case the Catalan club include the loan of Francisco Trincão in the deal.
Sport says Mendes has ‘insisted’ in the past few days that Barça make the transfer happen in January, and for that to happen, the agent proposed Traore’s loan until the end of the season with an obligatory buying clause.
The Camp Nou side are said to be ‘evaluating’ the possibility, as their priority would actually be to sign a striker, such as Alvaro Morata. But the Wolves star is seen as an easier option, the report says, both now or in June.
