Some days ago, it was reported that Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb has picked up another injury.

It was described as a hamstring injury for the talent. Despite that, there was hope that the Citizens could have him available at some point before the end of the season.

Bobb is yet to return to action and national team boss Stale Solbakken has now insisted that he has no injury at all. He told Dagbladet that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is simply not using some players due to competition in the squad.

Solbakken told the outlet: He is just in an extremely competitive situation. That’s why he won’t be in the squad.

“He is injury-free and training fully. But Pep Guardiola is currently taking out other players.”

When asked about the supposed hamstring injury, the Norway manager clearly stated: “It’s long gone.”

Pressed on what Bobb can do to be back in the Manchester City first-team fold, Solbakken said: “It’s just about training as best as possible and getting back into the squad and team.”

Whether Bobb looks elsewhere this summer remains to be seen, but there’s little point hanging around if he’s not selected when fit.

After all, he had recovered from a broken leg injury only some weeks ago and over-exerting him could impact the talent negatively from a physical perspective.

Bobb is still only 21 and he should be protected from being overplayed and perhaps, that is what Guardiola is trying to do.
