There’s no way Saturday’s Italian sport newspapers were going to have zero Adrien Rabiot articles, and there’s no way they were going to have zero on Everton.

Since Carlo Ancelotti moved to Goodison Park there have been endless reports of him looking towards Serie A for summer transfers. Rabiot is one of the claims which has some foundations, given the pair worked well together when they were both at PSG.

Gazzetta dello Sport say Rabiot’s mother Veronique, who also acts as his agent, has ‘spoken to Everton’ and Manchester United about a summer move, and she’d like to see him in the Premier League next season.

Newcastle United are also thought to be lurking.

Given Juventus signed Rabiot on a free from PSG, much to the anger of the French club, they’re set to make a big profit, and that could have been the plan all along.

The Ancelotti connection would no doubt help Everton, yet the 25 year old’s €7m a year salary, a figure likely to be after tax, could prove to be a bigger issue than transfer fee.
