Arsenal’s ‘openness’ and desire to ‘form one big family’ was key to their signing defender Jakub Kiwior ahead of the competition.

That’s according to his agent Pawel Zimonczyk, who has praised the Gunners for the way they went about convincing the Polish defender.

Kiwior joined Arsenal on a five-year deal two days ago after numerous reports that Arsenal had targeted him to bolster their squad this month.

He eventually arrived in a €25m deal from Spezia to add further competition to Arsenal’s back line as they compete for the Premier League title.

How much he plays between now and the end of the season remains to be seen given how much Arsenal’s defence has impressed this season.

William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White have all impressed at centre-back this season and it seems unlikely Mikel Arteta will seek to change that too much in the coming months.

It seems that is not a concern, though, with Kiwior convinced to join regardless and his agent impressed by the presentation they made.

“The thing that captured me was the openness of the people who work at Arsenal,” Zimonczyk told Meczyki.

“You can see that they form one big family there. I think they welcomed Kuba in from the first minute.”
