If the English media hadn’t launched a Marcus Rashford to Real Madrid transfer story then it almost certainly wouldn’t be a theme in the Spanish media at the moment.

Transfer rumours are starting to build strongly ahead of the January window and next summer, and right now there’s excessive hype around a lot of deals which seem to be built on fresh air.

One of those is the Rashford situation.

Sport, a newspaper of the Catalan variety, have seen a chance to give digs to two enemies in one article: Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho.

It’s claimed Madrid are being used in an effort to improve the England international’s status at Old Trafford. Rashford’s agent is said to be ‘threatening’ to take his player to Los Blancos if Mourinho doesn’t change the way he uses him.

The insinuation is that Rashford is looking for more starts and for those starts to be in a more settled position.

Madrid are said to be ‘attentive’ to the situation and if Manchester United display ‘negligence’ and handle the situation poorly, then they can ‘take advantage’.
