Bayern Munich have managed to get ahead of Chelsea in the chase for Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt and this has convinced the Blues to look elsewhere for a new centre-back.

Kalidou Koulibaly has been identified as one of the targets by the west London club, but the Napoli star is also wanted by Juventus if De Ligt were to leave this summer.

In fact, the 31-year-old is the first in the list for the Turin club, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who explains the defender’s profile suits the Old Lady as he has the experience of playing in Serie A.

Juventus will find it hard to convince the Naples club as they are keen to retain the ex-Genk man. In addition to this, Juve will have to deal with the competition from Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are ‘always interested’ in the Senegal international, and his agent, Fali Ramadani, ‘continues to speak’ to Chelsea.

The representative also manages other players and a few of them are of interest to Napoli. As per Alfredo Pedullà, the agent hopes to close a couple of deals with the Italian club.

With regards to Koulibaly, it’s claimed Ramadani could bring an offer of €40m from Chelsea to Napoli in the ‘next few days’.

Luciano Spalletti’s side, who are aware of this possibility, don’t intend to make a decision until the player returns from vacation.

The Serie A side have already presented a renewal offer to the player.

If he were to turn it down, then anything is possible, including Koulibaly staying at Napoli for one more season and leaving them as a free agent in 2023.
