The agent of Bari defender Valerio Di Cesare has confirmed to the Italian media Leeds United are interested in his client. Yesterday we covered reports from Italy that Leeds United were giving consideration to signing the 33-year-old this summer.

Speaking with OK Calciomercato, Di Cesare’s agent was asked about the future of the former Chelsea youth player. He said other clubs are monitoring the defender at the moment, including Leeds United.

The player’s agent thinks this isn’t a surprise given he’s one of the best defenders in Serie B, and he expected this interest once the transfer window opened.

“Leeds is one of the clubs interested in Cesare, but for now there is nothing. He is considered one of the strongest defenders in Serie B, so whenever the market opens, there is always great interest around him,” said Di Cesare.

Only 24 hours ago it was claimed in the Italian press that Leeds United were keen on Di Cesare, and that the Championship side see him as a possible replacement for the departed Giuseppe Bellusci.
