Earlier today, we covered the latest claims from France regarding Leicester City’s last bid for Saint-Étienne defender Wesley Fofana.

L’Equipe reported the Foxes are now offering €40m for the player, who’s pretty keen on signing for the Premier League side.

But there’s another club in this race, which is AC Milan, and Italian outlet Calcio Mercato brings some updates on the interest from the Rossoneri.

The Serie A giants are about to sell Lucas Paquetá to Lyon in a €20m deal, and that will open new possibilities for them in the market. That’s why a new attempt for Fofana is expected today.

Calcio Mercato says Milan have a ‘complicated path’ to signing the defender, and mentions that Leicester City have a ‘strong interest’ in getting him.

They confirm that the player is willing to join the Foxes, but Milan are still trying to give it a shot.

However, the report doesn’t say how much the Rossoneri are offering for Fofana, and it’s very unlikely they could beat Leicester’s offer. On top of that, L’Equipe made it clear Fofana has his heart set on the Foxes and doesn’t want to go anywhere else.
