Colourful is one description for Spain’s Don Balon, and there are many more less kind descriptions for the rumour outlet.
On Tuesday they come with some outlandish claims about Chelsea wanting to sign Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.
The 22 year old has an ‘absolutely brutal offer on the table’ to leave Madrid. Don Balon ram it home further, saying the proposal for a summer move is ‘genuinely beastly’.
Chelsea are said to be so convinced that Asensio is the man for them that owner Roman Abramovich is ‘directly ready to do anything’ to secure the signing.
Alvaro Morata has been singing the player’s praises to both Antonio Conte and Abramovich, according to the claims, and Chelsea would even be prepared to see the back of Eden Hazard to facilitate a move.
But Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is determined to keep the youngster, and prepared to knock back anything Abramovich comes up with.
It’s all very dramatic, and likely nonsense.
