According to Turkish TV Channel A Spor, newly appointed Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli is looking to sign Middlesbrough forward Britt Assombalonga.

Recently appointed Fenerbahce president Ali Y. Koc yesterday confirmed the appointment of the former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur sporting director and A Spor say the Frenchman is already looking at reinforcements.

Under the new reign, Fenerbahce are expected to target younger players and A Spor claim Middlesbrough’s Assombalonga is on the shortlist

A Spor report Comolli is keen to bring in the Middlesbrough star on a loan deal , but it’s very unlikely the Championship club would allow a key player to leave this summer.

With Vincent Janssen returning to Tottenham after his loan spell with the Turkish giants they will need to bolster their attacking options this summer.

Assombalonga finished last season as the club’s top scorer with fifteen goals and he’ll be vital to Middlesbrough’s ambitions to get promotion back to the Premier League.

Fenerbahce are also reported to be targeting fellow Championship player Luke Freeman, currently with QPR.
