Wahbi Khazri to Marseille is definitely becoming a serious story in France, with more than one outlet claiming the Ligue 1 side are keen on the Sunderland attacking midfielder.

Currently loaned to Rennes, the Tunisia international, who was discarded by David Moyes during his time in charge at the Stadium of Light, is enjoying a great season being one of the main men at Rennes.

The 27-year-old has been used in a more central role by Sabri Lamouchi, either playing up top or behind the striker and boasts 11 goals and three assists in 30 appearances so far this season.

This resurgence has led Marseille to take an interest, and with Sunderland currently staring at relegation down to League One, there’s little chance of him staying around to play in England’s third-tier when he returns from his loan.

At a low price, it’s hardly a gamble, and he knows the league well.
