Crystal Palace continue to be considered one of the main contenders in a possible race for Fiorentina forward Khouma Babacar.
The London side’s interest in the 24-year-old is once again mentioned in the Italian press today, as La Repubblica brings a story on the player’s situation.
The newspaper (via Fiorentina.it) claims that even though his agent is not looking for a move, Fiorentina are now afraid of losing him for free in 2019, and will start listening to the offers that other clubs have to make.
La Repubblica claims that Roma and Sassuolo are in the race, along with the ‘usual’ interest from Crystal Palace, but La Viola are still to receive an official offer for him.
Babacar has five goals and two assists in 18 games this season. Even though he’s been mostly on the bench, Fiorentina are hopeful that his potential would still convince some club to buy him. But his wages of €1.7m after tax per season might be a problem.
