Struggling to get their strike force to score regularly, Burnley are looking around for a new man to put the ball into the back of the net.

This is, at least, what Le10 Sport are reporting in their monthly magazine, claiming the Clarets have enquired about Nice’s Alassane Pléa recently.

The former France U21 international has been near ever present for the Ligue 1 side, scoring 10 goals in 30 appearances so far this season, and the outlet claim he could be one of the casualties as Lucien Favre shops around for a new wide player in January.

Needing money before spending, Nice could let either Mario Balotelli or the aforementioned Pléa in January if the right offer landed on their board’s desk.

Having scored 16 goals in 21 appearances this season, you would think the Italian is currently safe, paving the way for a Pléa exit.

No amount has been mentioned, but at 24 and with a contract currently keeping him in the south of France until 2021, we can’t see Nice wanting to let him go on the cheap.

We’ll have to wait and see if anything comes of this enquiry, or if Burnley were simply testing the waters, just in case.

How about Balotelli?
