Odsonne Edouard scoring a hat-trick on Saturday for Celtic is of course big news in Scotland. The 19 year old netting three times in a 5-1 Celtic victory over Motherwell is a big boost to what had so far been quite a quiet loan spell for the PSG owned forward.

So therefore, PSG”s local media have gone over the top with their praise and coverage? Well, not exactly.

Le Parisien, who every day have several pages on PSG, don’t even find space to mention the youngster’s Celtic hat-trick. There’s not even a word in Sunday’s newspaper, and, at the time of writing, we couldn’t find anything online either.

It’s little better over at L’Equipe who dubbed the performance ‘the emergence’ of Edouard at Celtic, and they point out a Champions League appearance is also likely on the way for the youngster. At least that’s some positivity for the transfer potentially paying off.

Edouard’s rather chequered history in French football, and problems off the pitch, perhaps dictate a certain lack of enthusiasm towards him doing well.

That could help Brendan Rodgers get a permanent deal this summer.
