Leicester City and West Ham each had a ‘spy’ at Sunday evening’s match between Marseille and PSG, report La Provence.

In one of the biggest games of the French football calendar, Marseille took the lead through a brilliant Luis Gustavo strike, before Neymar equalised for the visiting side.

Florian Thauvin then scored what looked to be the winner for Marseille, and Neymar lost the plot, picked up a yellow card and looked prime for a red. It didn’t take too long and the Brazilian was off the pitch, but then with almost the last kick of the game, Edinson Cavani scored a cracker of a freekick to save a point.

La Provence report Leicester and West Ham were among a number of clubs transfer window-shopping at the Velodrome, and for the Hammers it’s especially interesting.

Falling out with Marseille over Dimitri Payet’s transfer, West Ham were entering the enemy’s lair, and any transfer business between the two clubs would be especially interesting. Perhaps the Hammers were directing their eyes more towards the PSG players, and any fringe characters who could fancy a move.

Leicester have a good record of shopping in France, but there haven’t been any strong recent links to any of the players on display, suggesting there’s perhaps a new idea on the way.
