FC Twente have revealed they made a loss for the last financial year, despite the sale of players like Mateusz Klich.
The Poland midfielder signed for Leeds United in the last window for a fee in the region of €1.5m.
Tubantia have reported on Twente’s accounts for 2016/17 in which they made a loss of €145k, even though key players left the club in recent months. Klich, Joachim Andersen and Kamohelo Mokotjo all exited the Dutch side for transfer fees totalling €4m, but the club didn’t receive all of this.
Due to agent and sell on fees to former clubs Twente only saw €2.7m, and Klich’s move to Leeds United was a primary example of this.
However, Twente still made a decent profit on the midfielder after signing him for just €49k.
Klich has so far failed to make an impact at Elland Road since his arrival in the summer. The 27 year old has started just one Championship game this season, and wasn’t in the match day squad for Leeds United’s last game against Sheffield Wednesday.
