Celtic may be the kings of the Scottish Premiership, but Rangers fans were given a chance for schadenfreude on Tuesday evening as PSG took them to pieces at Celtic Park.

Pedro Caixinha’s men helpfully had a great result and performance at the weekend against Dundee, with Alfredo Morelos, Josh Windass and Carlos Pena helping Rangers to a 4-1 win.

Rangers welcome Celtic to Ibrox on September 23rd so their fans may not want to laugh too loudly at Celtic, in case Caixinha’s men end up paying for it.

Former PSG and Rangers defender José-Karl Pierre-Fanfan (Yes, we had to Google too) has been speaking to French newspaper L’Equipe and he feels it’s not the best match to judge PSG from, because Celtic weren’t a high enough standard of opponent.

“In view of the score, one can only be seduced. PSG has outclassed the opponent. The downside was the opposition was limited. From a technical point of view, it was quickly seen that Celtic had very little argument and was surpassed in all sectors, even if the Scots fought to the end.”

It’s an opinion which isn’t only held by the former Ibrox player, with PSG’s next Champions League match, against Bayern Munich, seen as the real big test of the club’s progress.

That’ll be it now for Pierre-Fanfan commenting, until the former Rangers player is wheeled out again as Celtic travel to Paris.
