Liverpool haven’t got the ‘same point of view’ as AS Monaco regarding a late transfer for Thomas Lemar, report L’Equipe.
In their Tuesday edition, the French newspaper say Monaco have ‘closed the door’ on a Lemar exit, but Liverpool won’t take no for an answer and continue their efforts to sign the player.
L’Equipe say negotiations continue between Liverpool and Monaco, which makes one think there’s at least a slight chance, otherwise the French champions wouldn’t even be making contact with Liverpool possible.
It was L’Equipe who launched the Lemar to Liverpool bid story on Monday, but they now say their information came from ‘From English sources close to the Merseyside club’.
That’s where the €72m + €8m claim came from, and in France there’s been a whole group of contradicting claims on what has actually been offered, if anything at all, with the only consistent being Liverpool are keen.
There’s other English interest too, and the whole thing is developing into a late saga, if that’s possible.
Liverpool were in talks with Monaco on Monday report L’Equipe, with the two clubs failing to reach an agreement for Lemar’s transfer. The situation continues.
