Leeds United new signing Mateusz Klich has told the Polish media the Championship side had been in talks to sign him since the end of last season. Last week it was confirmed the midfielder would be joining Leeds United after weeks of discussions.
“Talks started at the end of last season. I was told Leeds United wanted to sign me. A deal with Leeds United happened very quickly, and the clubs reached an agreement last week. I signed the contract on Friday, because previously the club’s sporting director was on holiday,” said Leeds United’s new signing.
According to the Dutch media Leeds United paid Twente £1.3m to sign Klich on a three-year contract. The 27-year-old became Leeds United’s first major arrival this summer, and it seems the initial interest in the player came when Garry Monk was at the club.
