Over the past few years, Brighton & Hove Albion have been focusing on the South American market as part of their recruitment process and have signed several youngsters from the continent.
The Premier League side continue to follow this market closely if a report from journalist Bautista Dell’ Acqua is to be believed.
He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide an update on Brighton’s interest in San Lorenzo’s Elián Irala.
Irala’s performances have attracted interest from the Seagulls and an unnamed club from Russia. Bautista Dell’ Acqua claims both clubs have made offers to the defensive midfielder.
He adds Fabian Hürzeler’s side have offered $4.5m [€4.3m] plus 15% of the profit from a future sale, while the Russian club have proposed a ‘higher amount’ of $5.5m [€5.2m] plus a similar percentage on a future sale.
Both the Argentine and San Lorenzo have to make a decision on whether or not to accept Brighton’s offer.
