If you follow us on Twitter, you’re probably aware the Portuguese media has nhad a brief period of silence regarding Victor Lindelof and Manchester United.
After weeks of strong claims saying the deal was close, or even done, the big newspapers didn’t have any updates on Wednesday, and it’s almost the same on Thursday. Except for a story from Correio da Manhã.
But what Correio da Manhã is claiming today is that Vieira is still pushing for more money. The intention is now to sell Lindelof for at least €40m.
The newspaper says the president was on the verge of flying to Manchester yesterday to take care of Lindelof and other deals, but the reason he didn’t travel isn’t explained.
He must have had a very good motive to stay in Portugal, because he loves England.
Anyway, the word is that the clubs still think they could find an agreement. Considering the general consensus, which said the transfer would only be concluded next week after the international break, it would be no surprise to see Vieira trying to get a few extra million out of Manchester United.
