Nottingham Forest summer signing Nikola Milenković has insisted it is an honour to be playing for the club, sharing his delight at how things have gone for him so far.

The Serbian defender has been speaking to his country’s official media as part of the international break, with them taking on Switzerland and Spain in the UEFA Nations League.

He’ll be hoping to continue a fine run of form that has seen him quickly establish himself as a key player for Nottingham Forest since joining them from Fiorentina in a €14.3m deal in the summer.

He’s earned plenty of praise as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have started the season impressively and was named the club’s player of the month for September as well.

It’s been all positive so far for the 26-year-old, who has quickly proven to be one of the smartest transfer decisions made by any club in the Premier League this summer.

He’s certainly earned himself a glowing reputation among fans and pundits alike so far and it appears the love for Nottingham Forest has quickly grown in him as well.

“Yes, why not?” he answered when asked if it is an honour to play for a ‘double champion of Europe’.

“Playing in front of Nottingham fans, playing at the City Ground, it’s enough to enter the stadium to feel the history, which is huge.

“The fans have a great passion for football, they participate during the entire 90 minutes in every moment of the game and give us a really great support that we players feel on the pitch.”
