According to a claim in the French media, Dundee United are closing in on Liverpool defender Billy Koumetio.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to the Scottish club in recent weeks as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of next season.
Marc Mechenoua reports the Liverpool youngster will undergo a medical tonight ahead of his proposed move to Dundee United. The French journalist states the Lyon born defender is set to sign a two-year contact, with the Scottish Premiership club having the option of a year extension.
Koumetio joined Liverpool from Orleans in 2020 but has played just one game for the senior team in his time at Anfield. Since his arrival the Frenchman has been loaned out to Austria Wien, Dunkerque and Blackburn Rovers.
He’s contracted to Liverpool until June 2025 and has represented France at youth level.
