West Ham United could include Pablo Fornals as part of a deal to try and sign Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, with David Moyes personally pushing the Hammers’ efforts.
That’s according to AS, who say West Ham are ‘back on the attack’ for the striker a third time after two previous efforts to sign him.
They explain that En-Nesyri could ‘give in to temptation’ and move to the London Stadium, having turned down the interest on the two previous occasions.
West Ham are yet to make a serious bid, at least not to the extent they did in the past when they offered €35m in January 2021.
David Moyes is the ‘great supporter’ of the transfer but at this moment in time, West Ham are not so sure about spending more than €30m on the Moroccan despite his impressive return to form this year.
The Hammers could offset part of that by including Pablo Fornals in the deal. The Spanish midfielder wants to return to his homeland after four years in London and sees Sevilla as an ‘ideal destination’.
Sevilla currently value him at no more than €9m but West Ham want more, and the two sides are currently in a tug of war over that issue.
The obvious solution is that they meet in the middle on Fornals, include him in the deal for En-Nesyri and thus West Ham avoid paying more than more than €30m for him.
Transfer business is never that simple, though, and En-Nesyri’s own desires will play their part. He’s already turned West Ham down twice but there’s a suggestion that may have now changed, opening up the possibility of a deal finally being done.
