Every day now sees claims on the future of Gerard Deulofeu, in both the Spanish and Italian sport media. The Everton owned player being called up to Spain’s squad has encouraged everything further and allowed hype to build beyond what it really has basis for.
Mundo Deportivo report that Deulofeu has ‘returned to his best level’ since swapping Everton for AC Milan, which is likely stretching it a little. It’s claimed that in ‘just a few weeks’ Milan manager Vincenzo Montella has managed to instil ‘a capacity for sacrifice’ in the player that Ronald Koeman could not.
Mundo Deportivo quote Gerard-Yoda-Deulofeu as saying: “I have learned to forget the past and to live the present, I think only of that. The future will come, thinking about it 
can lead you to the wrong path.”
Once again, from a Barcelona perspective, it all boils down to the same thing. Luis Enrique announcing his exit from the club has ‘opened the back door’ on the summer transfer.
Enrique wasn’t a fan, clearly not managing to get the sacrifice out of Deulofeu which Montella has. Barcelona have their €12m clause and could use it, but they’ll surely think long and hard about how both Koeman and Enrique, with all their Barca DNA, weren’t impressed.
