Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti is unlikely to sign for Pescara in the summer because it now seems certain they will be relegated to Serie B.
The 23-year-old will become a free agent when his contract expires in June, and the player has been linked with a number of clubs, including Leeds United.
PescaraSport 24 have reported Pescara’s chances of signing Avenatti are fading due to their current position in Serie A. The Italian side are rooted to the bottom of the table, and their relegation back to Serie B looksonly a matter of time.
In January it was confirmed Avenatti would see out his contract with Ternana, which could lead to a scramble to sign the South American in the summer.
Leeds United could be one of those clubs looking to snap the player up on a free transfer after their previous attempts to sign him. Leeds United made another approach for Avenatti in the last summer window, but again were unsuccessful.
Leeds United face competition to sign Avenatti, and it will take some convincing to bring the player to England over a move to Serie A, with Cagliari showing a keen interest.
