It’s been a while since the Italian press started reporting Juventus’ attempts to renew the contract of Alex Sandro. The Brazilian left-back has been showing great potential for the club, and a new deal would protect him somewhat from interest.
Speaking of the clubs who want him, it’s Manchester City who are said to have shown the strongest interest. This is nothing new, as Pep Guardiola’s side are frequently mentioned by other local outlets and need a refresh of their fullbacks during the summer.
This time the claims include Arsenal as well, with Arsene Wenger said to be following the player. That’s not something we’ve been used to reading recently.
Arsenal will also likely look to consider adding a fullback in the summer, with the current left-back options reasonable but not of the highest level.
If the Turin club get their way. Alex Sandro is set to get a huge pay raise, having his salary improved from €2.8m to €4.5m. It’s unknown how much would Juventus ask for him, but surely it would be a fee way in excess of €30m.
