Getafe are keen on Tottenham’s Bryan Gil in the summer, with him seemingly on the way out after growing frustrated with life under Ange Postecoglou.
Marca report their interest in the player today, insisting that Getafe are ‘already considering’ making a move for the forward.
The newspaper today covers comments from their president Angel Torres, who has been busy discussing a number of issues at the club and their plans moving forwards today.
They explain that with their place in La Liga mathematically assured for another season, those in charge of the club are already working on the 2024/25 season.
“Now we have to work on another new project, there are going to be a lot of changes and we are going to rejuvenate the team,” Torres told reporters today.
That ‘project’ of rejuvenation is already underway and one of the named ‘that is being mentioned’ is Gil, who looks likely to leave Tottenham.
Several reports over the last few months have indicated that he’s become disillusioned this season and told Tottenham he wants to leave in the summer, but only on a permanent basis and not another loan deal.
A return to Spain, particularly to Sevilla, appears to be his preference but Getafe are ‘already considering’ making a move.
It’s likely they’re looking for a bargain deal for the player, hoping to take advantage of his desire to leave and potentially forcing Tottenham’s hand.
Whether that actually works remains to be seen but it appears they’ll at least have interest from Getafe, who we’re sure won’t be the only Spanish side keen.
