Leicester City loaned Dennis Praet to Torino at the beginning of the season, and he’s had a reasonable time back in Italian football.
The 28-year-old has made 23 appearances, missing a chunk of the season, from early February until late April, with a foot injury.
Torino have seen enough to know they want the Belgian to stick around. They have a buying option with Leicester City, but in typical Serie A style don’t want to use that, and would rather take Praet on a loan deal again.
According to Torino Granata, the Italian club have made ‘a sort of ultimatum’ to the Foxes, telling them they want a deal agreed quickly so Praet can begin preseason training with Torino.
They want to pressure Leicester so they don’t ‘hesitate’ on agreeing the deal.
Praet has a contract with the Premier League side until 2024, so whilst another loan is possible there’s a likelihood Brendan Rodgers’ side will this time seek a purchase obligation rather than option.
At this stage, it’s not really Torino’s role to making ultimatums to anyone.
