Aurélien Tchouameni is the latest young French midfielder to be much-wanted around the European market.
For weeks, the media closest to Real Madrid have been talking about interest from Los Blancos, but there’s a problem with their pursuit. The Spanish side, according to their local media, would prefer the AS Monaco player to wait until summer 2023 to move, given they have other areas to spend money on this year.
Tchouameni isn’t thought to be keen on that idea, and that gives an advantage to other clubs, such as Liverpool.
FootMercato report the Reds are ‘ideally placed’ to seal a deal for the 22-year-old, and joining the Anfield club would be ‘a priority’ as far as the player is concerned.
That doesn’t mean things are all sorted out for Liverpool, and FootMercato say Real Madrid have returned to the picture. They’re still trying to convince the player that Los Blancos is the right destination for him, but it’s made clear that Jurgen Klopp’s side are ahead in the race and look better positioned at this stage.
