If you believe the stories over the past few weeks, the deal taking the Belgian away from Anfield is all but done, and both Calciomercato and Gazzetta dello Sport give us the latest on the situation on Wednesday.
It’s explained there’s no chance of an automatic renewal in his contract at Liverpool being triggered, with the latter outlet stating he has ‘not reached the minimum number of appearances’ needed.
Gazzetta explain that ‘for the final OK, it will probably be necessary to wait’ for Investcorp or RedBird to take over from the Elliott fund as the new owners.
Calciomercato are a bit more full on, stating Divock Origi ‘will wear the Rossoneri shirt’, and the deal is just a ‘matter of time’.
There will be ‘no compensation’ in the deal, since he will leave for free, and the whole story is ‘now in its final stages’.
Having said no to offers from Germany and England, he ‘will sign a four-year contract worth around €4m + bonuses per season’.
As you can see, the details are different between Calciomercato and Gazzetta, but the gist of the whole thing is the same: Origi will leave Liverpool and sign for Milan in the very near future.
