Arsenal have ‘taken several concrete steps’ to sign 23-year-old – ‘Intermediaries’ hard at work

Despite the rather strong rumours sending Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, those linking other strikers to the Emirates continue to circulate.

Victor Osimhen, who certainly would fit the profile Mikel Arteta appears to be looking for, remains a reported target for the Gunners, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The newspaper, looking at what the future holds for the 23-year-old Nigeria international, explain the player is looking to play in the Champions League next year.

Napoli are still comfortably in a position to qualify for next season’s competition, but that hasn’t stopped ‘important eyes from the Premier League’ being set on him.

Gazzetta are then more precise, stating ‘in particular Arsenal’, who have ‘already taken several concrete steps through intermediaries’ to sign the player.

This is promising, even if ‘there is still no definitive agreement’, because Osimhen wants a club playing in the Champions League, and while the Gunners are currently fourth, one slip up could see Tottenham overtake them.

Arsenal hold a two points lead on their local rivals, having played the same amount of matches with five games to go.
