It’s not too unfair to say Naby Keita hasn’t had close to the impact which was expected when he moved to Anfield from RB Leipzig in 2018.
Ongoing injury issues have played a part, yet it’s clear Keita isn’t one of the key players for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, and an exit may be on the cards.
The Reds wouldn’t be able to get back the £50m+ they sent to Leipzig, and there doesn’t appear to be a long queue of clubs forming to sign the midfielder.
AS report that Keita has been offered to Atletico Madrid in recent weeks. That’s a rather ambitious attempt from the player’s representatives, given Keita’s recent record and that Diego Simeone’s side are La Liga champions and doing pretty well in midfield.
The much heralded Udinese player Rodrigo De Paul is one option, and he’s also been linked with Liverpool in recent months.
