Speaking to the Italian media this week, Brescia owner Massimo Cellino addressed the tough job he’s having at the club this season.
With many changes of manager in the past few months, the businessman admitted that the arrival of Pep Clotet was delayed due to a plan he had to buy Birmingham City last year.
Cellino claimed he wouldn’t take the manager from the Championship side at a time he was in negotiations to buy the Blues himself.
He also said the plan for the purchase of the English club didn’t go forward because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now as things remain tense at the Italian side, there are some suggestions from the local media that the official could soon leave Brescia, and perhaps carry on with the intention of buying Birmingham City.
With most fans going against him, the owner shows annoyance for feeling like ‘a guest in someone else’s home’. That’s more than enough for the rumours to go on.
Meanwhile, Brescia Oggi relates the club’s moment to Cellino’s quotes from this week, and points out he may head to Birmingham.
