Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte features a big piece on the agreement between Watford and Fluminense for the transfer of João Pedro.
The website claims the clubs have renegotiated the terms of the deal, which can now reach a total amount of €11.5m, besides having new dates set.
Globo Esporte explains that the original agreement was of an initial payment of €2.5m, with bonuses which could make it reach €10m.
Among these bonuses, €4m was related to his performances for Fluminense, €1.5m for the work permit for the Premier League and two clauses of €1m depending on his games for the Hornets.
Watford reportedly paid €5.5m so far, as Fluminense recently received one instalment. The rest, however, will no longer depend on performance bonuses.
According to Globo Esporte, the clubs agreed that the Hornets will pay €6m more for the move, regardless of how he does at the club.
The Championship club now have a longer time to make the payments, all the way until 2023. Following relegation from the Premier League, Watford now see this change ‘with good eyes’.
Since joining the Hornets, João Pedro has nine goals and three assists in 35 appearances for the club.
